Dr. Stoughton

Born and raised in Crystal Lake, IL , Dr. Alan Stoughton returned home to practice natural medicine there following his November 2004 graduation from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, MN.  In November of 2006 he was recognized as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), and in May of 2007 he founded MNO Sports Chiropractic in Gilberts, IL.

During his years in practice, Dr. Stoughton has diagnosed and treated a wide variety of conditions, from chronic food allergies to musculoskeletal conditions to heart disease risk factors.  Nutritional supplementation, chiropractic adjustments, muscle and ligament treatment, rehabilitative exercises and blood work analyses are just some of the tools that he uses in his practice.  Dr. Stoughton's love for sports has led him to serve as club physician for an elite, traveling volleyball club; lecture on health care issues and training principles to marathon runners, baseball players and golfers; and volunteer his expertise and services to treat riders of several 300-400 mile bicycle rides through lower Wisconsin.  In the summer of 2008 he served as the Chiropractor to the Venezuelan Olympic Softball Team on the Chicago stop of their Beijing warm-up tour.  He has also worked with the athletes at the EVP amateur volleyball tour in Lisle and been named to the Sports Medicine Team for the professional AVP Professional Beach Volleyball Tour stop in Chicago.  http://www.biz-journal.com/articles/2009/09/02/r_qw0ulxuktycbh3tiqzhg/index.xml.  Currently he is a co-sponsor, team physician, and team rider for the Area 51 Cycling Team.

With MNO Sports Chiropractic, Dr. Stoughton blends his experience and passion for chiropractic with soft tissue techniques shown to benefit top athletes to provide full-service health care to the residents of McHenry and Kane Counties.  Dr. Stoughton believes in injury-prevention, minimizing recovery time, and improving performance through proper joint and muscle function.  This philospophy is put into practice each day at MNO Sports Chiropractic.

To stay active, Dr. Stoughton enjoys softball, rock climbing, mountain and road biking, weight training, skydiving and snowboarding.  In July of 2010 he rode in his first RAGBRAI bicycle ride across Iowa, and that August he climbed the 13,770 ft. Grand Teton in Wyoming to raise over $3,500 to help provide inner-city teens with week-long wilderness adventures.  Click here to find out more:  http://summitforsomeone.org/main.php?page=4&climber=7184.  In August of 2011 he reached the summit of the legendary  Matterhorn in Switzerland.  He's already looking forward to his next adventure!!
